Wagashi ist der Oberbegriff für japanische Süssigkeiten, und Wagashi Maniac- weil auf eine gewisse Art und Weise es schon eine Besessenheit bei mir ist…

Es sollte mein Koch-Tagebuch sein- da die Herstellung, die Zutaten und auch das Hintergrundwissen sehr interessant sind, wollte ich es schon seit einiger Zeit dokumentieren.Vielleicht finden sich ein paar Seelenverwandte, mein Wissen ist auch noch sehr lückenhaft, ich hoffe, so wird es ergänzt.
Auf dieser Art werde ich die gleichen Fehler hoffentlich nicht immer wieder machen(und es hinterher wieder vergessen).

Ich habe eine kleine schwarze Katze- sie hält auch sehr viel von der japanischen Küche – auch davon wird dieser Blog handeln- man kann ja schliesslich nicht nur vom Süssem leben…
Amatō ist japanisch und bedeutet: “Freund vom Süßem” oder einfach “Naschkatze”. Ich liebe süße Sachen.

Ich lebe momentan noch sehr ländlich im Süden Deutschlands, ich hoffe, nicht mehr all zu lange. Dadurch bin ich sehr auf Online-Bestellungen angewiesen, japanische Lebensmittel kann ich hier überhaupt nicht bekommen. Deswegen die “Shopping Seite”, ich habe nichts mit den Shops zu tun, sie werden von mir nur als Tipps und Einkaufsquellen genannt.
Alle Bilder und Wagashi sind von mir gemacht, sollte es anders sein, wird es ganz deutlich mitgeteilt.

Bitte KEINE Verwendung von Photos oder Inhalten für komerzielle Zwecke.

Für private Zwecke habe ich nichts dagegen, wenn man Bilder für etwas verwenden möchte, bitte anfragen. Für Bildungs-Zwecke(wie Schulen/Uni) muss man nicht fragen, Wissen soll für alle da sein. Vielen Dank!

This blog is dedicated to my favorite hobby – Wagashi.
Wagashi are traditional Japanese sweets, and Wagashi Maniac because in a certain way, it is already an obsession…
It should be my cooking diary; because the manufacture, ingredients, and also the background are very interesting, I wanted a kind of documentation. This way I will hopefully not make the same mistakes again and again (and afterwards forget).
My knowledge is still very incomplete, and I hope there is somebody who maybe could answer my questions.
I have a small black kitty, she likes Japanese cuisine too– this kind of recipes you will find here too, we can not live only on sweets…(even if we have 20 pounds sugar in our cellar).

The name “Amatō” means “friend of sweet things” in japanese, I think the right english expression is “sweet tooth” , but in German it is “Naschkatze”, (translated: a cat who likes sweets, sweet cat) but of course it means a person who loves sweet things.

I live in Germany in a very small city in the south – it is often not easy for me to get the right ingredients for wagashi cooking.
Because you can’t buy many of them in Germany, I have to make everything by myself- I just can’t buy some anko, often it’s not easy to get the right flours for wagashi recipes.
Right now I try to learn more and more about these wonderful sweets, all the wagashi you see in my blog are made by me, also the pictures(if not I will tell you).
Please ask if you would like to use some pictures, I don’t have a problem if you do for private purposes, but please ask if you would like to use anything on a website or other. I also would like to know for what you use them(if you like to show my pictures somewhere). No need to ask for educational purposes (for schools/university), the knowledge is for everybody. Thank you!

The small graphics attached to my pictures are made by me.
Small cats pictures and icons are from SanX ( I love cats).

I will post some recipes, in German and in English, so far they work.
I hope this blog will help me to improve my English; this is the reason why I would like to blog in 2 languages. My German is really fine- I’m not born in Germany.

leider nur, habe bis jetzt keine Lösung gefunden für die unschöne Darstellung der japanischen Schrift in manchen Browsern, am schlimmsten ist es bei FireFox.
